2026 Update: Soak Insure Continues Sponsorship of Aldeburgh Yacht Club’s Regatta
Soak Insure is pleased to confirm that we will once again sponsor the Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta, hosted by Aldeburgh Yacht Club from Sunday 23rd to Friday 28th August.
Following the success of last year’s regatta, we are proud to continue supporting an event that remains an important part of the East Coast sailing calendar. The Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta brings together competitive racing, local sailing talent and a strong sense of community that reflects the traditions of the club.
Celebrating the success of previous regattas
Recent editions of the Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta have delivered competitive racing and strong participation across multiple classes.
Sailors have enjoyed varied racing conditions typical of the East Coast, with shifting winds and tidal currents rewarding tactical awareness and boat handling. Alongside the racing, the regatta also provides an opportunity for sailors, members and visitors to come together and celebrate the local sailing community.

Supporting the sailing community
As part of our ongoing partnership with Aldeburgh Yacht Club, we are also continuing our initiative to give back directly to the club. 2025 Update: Our Commitment to the Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta

That’s why we are thrilled to announce our sponsorship of this year’s Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta—a highlight of the sailing calendar which will take place between 17th and 22nd August this year, at Aldeburgh on the Rivers Alde & Ore.
Through our sponsorship, we are proud to help fund the prize money for the Under-25 Laser fleet competitors participating in this year’s AYC Regatta: £100 for 1st place, £75 for 2nd, and £50 for 3rd. This initiative serves as an incentive to encourage young sailors to push their limits and strive for excellence while transitioning towards AYC’s flagship senior competition—the Aldeburgh Yacht Club Regatta. By providing something special to work for, we hope to inspire the next generation of talented sailors and ensure the continued growth of the sport.
Furthermore, this new sponsorship brings exciting benefits to the AYC members, including a 5% donation of members’ premiums back into the club when cover is obtained through us during the first year of the sponsorship, which help support and build on the Junior and Youth Sailing programme that is supported by AYC’s training centre.
While we collaborate with several leading marine insurers, we understand that club members may have a preferred provider. In such cases, we will strive to maintain their cover with their chosen insurer while still contributing a 5% premium donation to the club.

Aldeburgh Yacht Club’s Tradition of Excellence
Aldeburgh Yacht Club (AYC) is a thriving yacht club on the east coast, renowned for its rich history and strong commitment to sailing. Located on the beautiful Suffolk coast, the club has been at the heart of the local sailing community since 1897. Boasting over 1,600 members and 730 family groups, with numbers continuing to grow, the club has a vibrant and active racing fleet that competes for nine months of the year, both at home and abroad. AYC is home to an impressive fleet, including 400 dinghies, 300 cruisers and day boats on moorings, and 60 RIBs.
In addition to its strong racing heritage, AYC is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of sailors through its growing Junior and Youth sailing programme, supported by the club’s Training Centre. Last year, 258 juniors took part in summer courses, while 75 participated in the Junior Sailing programme offered to members during the summer holidays, culminating in the highly anticipated Junior & Youth Regatta. Furthermore, AYC’s Schools Sailing Trust runs a dedicated programme throughout June, introducing over 200 children from local schools to the joy of sailing.
The Annual Regatta is one of the club’s most anticipated events, bringing together sailors of all ages and skill levels for a weekend of exhilarating racing and social festivities. Last year’s senior regatta saw an impressive turnout, with 120 boats competing. The event features class racing in the mornings, followed by thrilling handicap racing in the afternoons, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive competition for all participants.
